Easter Egg Decorations

Here is a fun craft idea to add to your Easter decoration knowhow. These little Easter Eggs made from clay can be placed in a cute Easter basket with some fun Easter hay and placed on a table as a center piece, scatter them around the house in little nests, or use them for a candy free dairy free Easter egg hunt. Have fun with this one!

Materials Needed

  • Modeling clay which does not require firing
  • Acrylic paint
  • Paint Brushes
  • Paper Towels
  • Cups of water for paintbrushes
  • Toothpicks
  • Syrofoam squares
  • Newspaere of plastic to cover the table
  • Yarn (this is optional)
  • Long needle (this is optional)
  • Basket (this is optional)

How To Do It:

  • Cover the table with newspaper or plastic, have paper towels handy for cleaning your hands.
  • Take a small lump of clay and shape it into eggs. (If using eggs for a basket, consider the size of the basket to decide the size of eggs.
  • Place the eggs on toothpicks and stick the other end of the toothpick into styrofoam.
  • Paint the eggs your desired colors.
  • Let them dry.
  • If you decide to hang the eggs, double a piece of yarn on a long needle.
  • Tie the ends together and pull through the DAMP clay egg.
  • Leave the knot at the bottom.
