Jewelry Making - How To Keep Up

I find it hard to keep up with the trends in making jewelry. I feel that sometimes making the pieces take so long the trend has already passed me by before or just when I have finished. So, what I have done is learned all the basics of bead stringing, wire wrapping, bead knotting and using chains.

Then, I look to Hollywood, even though I am not star struck or anything I know that the trends of Hollywood are what most designers and jewelry makers base thier next pieces off of. Here is a good article about Chandelier Earrings and how long they will be around.

Although very fun, finding inspiration in Hollywood can be daunting; reading all those magazines like "In Style" and "Us", gets me too distracted. If this sounds like you try finding inspiration from those celebrities that seem to keep up and then put your own spin on it or see where that certain piece can take you. You don't always have to keep up with the trends, it's also fun to make your own and see who catches on. Make your designs your own and you will definately find it easier to keep up.
