Creating Masculine Pages and Crafts

Creating masculine pages is not as difficult as you may think. Many companies are now creating more masculine materials for our scrapbooks and crafts. How do we begin to layout our scrapbook pages or crafts for the men in our lives? Start with the color, pattern, and texture that you would like to use. Some great tips that I have learned from are using earthy colors such as tans, browns, greens, etc. Also, using masculine patterns, narrow stripes, argyle, geometric or linear, distressed, rugged, texture, and anything manly you can come up with!

Using embellishments and charms may not seem very masculine, but there are some great products available for male themed pages. Metal and wood accents add a masculine touch, especially to tags and borders. Ribbon is a great accent when used with a more male approach. Use knots when adding ribbon and other fiber accents. Ribbon can also be used to make great tabs behind photos and tags and works beautifully as a border along the side of a page. Buttons can add a great touch to masculine projects, by using vintage, wood, bold and earthy colors. Distressing is a great way to add a masculine touch, especially when using sand paper or darker inks. Tearing paper will also add to the masculine feel and also add texture and depth.

Most retailers now carry a lot of great embellishments for just about any layout or craft project you have in mind. If you can't find exactly what you want, make it or find something similar that you can alter and add to it.
